Episode 5 left off with Kim Je Ha being called to Cloud Nine, a secret floor that’s not above ground, but at the basement of the company building. Episode 6 reveals that down in this basement exists a bright, modern bulletproof and soundproof intel centre. It is literally the brain of JSS. A powerful AI called Mirror serves as that brain, collecting, storing, processing and interpreting confidential data from all over the world which only Choi Yoo Jin has access to.

Choi Yoo Jin’s call to Cloud Nine is to extend an opportunity to Kim Je Ha to access this intel she knows he is very interested in. In exchange, she wants him to tell her everything about him. Kim Je Ha is not forthcoming at first. The microphones in the room has him cautious about who might be listening in. But, after being assured they are used by the AI to receive voice commands (as well as having any thoughts of breaking into this place to access the intel himself quashed by Choi Yoo Jin), he submits.

As a starting point, Choi Yoo Jin request to know about his time in Iraq and his reason for going after Park Kwan Soo. The story about how Kim Je Ha became a fugitive is revealed here. Raniya was a translator in the meeting between Park Kwan Soo and the Kumar leader, a job which Kim Je Ha had introduced to her. Kim Je Ha was then made to be on the run when he was framed for her murder following the killing. This came about after he witnessed her shot before his eyes. He was knocked unconscious and a gun was placed in his hands to make it look like he was responsible. Upon regaining consciousness, he found himself dragged away by authorities. He managed to escape a week later, though, disguising himself as a Syrian refugee to go onto Turkey to get to Europe (which we assume takes us to the point of Episode 1).

Kim Je Ha tells Choi Yoo Jin that the above is why he must kill Park Kwan Soo.

The information satisfies Choi Yoo Jin. She commands the AI to answer every question he has for her, revealing the likely reason Raniya was killed. The AI, Mirror, calculates a 68% probability her killing was ordered by Park Kwan Soo because she had translated information she shouldn’t have been privy to during that meeting. The translated information is unknown, but the AI, Mirror, believes with a low 53% certainty that Park Kwan Soo and the Kumar leader was engaged in secret talks. Though the translated information is unknown, she does add that two weeks after the secret talks, the Kumar leader formed an army after breaking free from the control of the CIA. This has Choi Yoo Jin suggest perhaps Park Kwan Soo had supplied the Kumar leader with weapons.

Meanwhile, back at Choi Yoo Jin’s residence, Ko Anna is taking advantage of the fact that no one is on surveillance at the control room. An item in the news reports her dad will be attending a 5-year memorial celebration at the Catholic Church in Ayang-dong. Seeing this, Anna goes about making her escape to go look for her dad, Jang Se Joon, again.

Getting past Jang Mi Ran who is downstairs watching TV and eating sandwich subs was a non-issue. When Jang Mi Ran takes her toilet break, Ko Anna took the opportunity to spike her drink which knocks Jang Mi Rang out like a light, allowing to get out the door without being caught. Outside, she is momentarily stopped by a guard stationed in his security van, but fortunately she manages to trick the guard into believing she is Jang Mi Ran by stealing her black suit and headset. Her excuse of heading out to the store when asked where she was heading seems to be something Jang Mi Ran often does (despite rules not allowing this), so Ko Anna was not caught for being out of character. The only minor difference is when the guard requests she get him a cup of coffee as a joke she agreed, but it isn’t viewed as something to raise alarms.

Free, Ko Anna makes her way to Yeonhui-dong Photo Studio, a photo studio which she and her mum last went together. Her visit to the studio then to an assisted living facility which the photographer informs her about has her learn that her mother, Ume Hye Rin, a movie star, visited the studio for a passport photo which was to be used for their US visa. Seemingly, the need for a visa so that mother and daughter can leave to the US is linked to Choi Yoo Jin having found out everything and was after her and her mother. This information comes from Ko Anna’s visit to the assisted living facility where her mother’s relative—Yoo Myung Ja—mistaken Ko Anna as Ume Hye Rin and tells her to run and take her daughter with her to America because Choi Yoo Jin was going to kill them.

Chief Joo, Kim Je Ha, Jang Mi Ran and the JSS’ arrive onto the scene after tracking Ko Anna to the facility through a taxi payment she made, but they never manage to stop Ko Anna from attending the memorial service Jang Se Joon orders to keep her from attending. By the time anyone locates her, she’s made it to the memorial and standing amongst a choir of nuns, singing before them all. With Park Kwan Soo and his people in the audience, the JSS team are forced to standby and watch her, hoping she doesn’t expose herself.

Fortunately for Choi Yoo Jin and Jang Se Joon, Ko Anna manages to control herself. After the choir ended she remained in her place, appearing to want to call out to her dad or get him to acknowledge her in front of everyone. She doesn’t though as she goes on to singing Amazing Grace upon hearing the priest announce a further offering to the audience since Ko Anna didn’t appear to want to step off. Finishing the song, she continue to root herself to the spot in front of the audience, seemingly still entertaining the thought of exposing her relationship with her dad. It’s only after Kim Je Ha steps up and sends her a pleading gaze not reveal herself did she finally resign herself to the side with the rest of the choir.

The search for Ko Anna continues after the memorial celebration as she manages to evade them for a short time. With help from CCTV cameras on the street, she is eventually located at a bench outside a theme park called Dream Forest. It’s the place she and her dad last visited together. It seems it’s also the last time she and her dad saw each other.

In a flashback, which takes place at the very same Dream Forest park, her young self and her dad had discussed what she would do if there was ever a time she got lost. She cleverly mentioned taking a taxi to the bus stop which would take her back to her home, but if she were to find that she can’t take a cab then she would have to hurry and find him (much like she has been). This has her dad tell her she shouldn’t run around looking for him because that would make it hard for him to find her. Instead, she should go back to the last place she lost him and wait for him. He tells her that no matter how hard it is, she must endure it and wait for him to find her.

And so, Ko Anna is doing exactly that, waiting for her dad to get her—only, her dad has no idea where she is. He seems to have forgotten that visit to the theme park where he gave her that advice. After the memorial celebrations, it was suggested that Jang Se Joon had no intention of going to find and get his daughter. In their car, Choi Yoo Jin is seen accusing Jang Se Joon of using her “murderous rage” as an excuse to keep Ko Anna far away from him, claiming a means of protecting his daughter from Choi Yoo Jin, when what’s really happening is he wants to be apart from Ko Anna so that he can pursue his ambitions.

Chief Joo, Kim Je Ha and the JSS team close in on Ko Anna, but they don’t use force to try bring her in. Kim Je Ha is granted his request to go in alone to speak with her calmly. He brings her strawberry ice cream, telling her that her dad sent it to her. It’s a lie, but Ko Anna believes Kim Je Ha and eats it.

She starts talking about the time she visited the place and how happy she was because she went with her dad and she finally had something to brag about to her friends. But she could brag because she wasn’t allowed to tell people who her dad was. Her mum had told her that if she were to tell people who her dad was, bad people would go after him.

As she is expressing all of this, she is visibly struggling to speak. To the ears, it just sounds like she’s emotionally wound up about it. Watch her and she looks like she’s trying to control the onset of panic attack. Kim Je Ha, having not looked her during this time, has no idea anything’s wrong until he turns to face her. He tries to find out what might be wrong when he does, but she’s not paying any attention to his concerns. She’s too preoccupied with her recent realisation her dream might be futile one because the bad person, she realises, is herself.

She falls unconscious after that which has Kim Je Ha call to his team for an ambulance. It is then he finds out from Team Leader Seo (who finds out from Chief Joo who called the maid at Choi Yoo Jin’s residence) that she fell unconscious because of the strawberries in the ice-cream. She’s allergic to them. He desperately calls for her to wake up, but she just won’t come around. He is asked to feel for a pulse. It’s there, but it’s weak. She’s having trouble breathing Team Leader Seo tells him.

Team Leader Seo calls for him to give her CPR immediately. He warns that not doing so could die. Kim Je Ha quickly does so, moving in to seal his mouth around hers to begin CPR. Ko Anna’s eyes flutter open momentarily before they shut again.

Thoughts

And that’s where Episode 6 leaves off! Finally, Kim Je Ha and Anna finally meet again. We knew the strawberry ice-cream was going to play a part in the final scene! We didn’t know how it was going to play a part, though. We were thinking maybe Anna would say something like, “I don’t eat strawberry ice cream. Dad wouldn’t send me this flavour” and be all suspicious. We didn’t go far enough to think of strawberries being a fruit Anna might be allergic to. It should have been an obvious second guess.

Once the scene revealed that Anna was allergic to strawberries, we knew where it was going after that, though. CPR! Or as we like to call it, “Kim Je Ha and Anna’s first kiss”. We think the drama is trying to pass it off as Kim Je Ha and Anna’s first kiss. Maybe. :oD :oD.

The episode managed to back pedal with the Kim Je Ha and Raniya relationship to make way for Kim Je Ha and Anna. Just before the topic of Raniya and what happened back in the past, Choi Yoo Jin had asked whether he loved her. Kim Je Ha doesn’t know. It might of been sympathy for the situation, for her being in such a hell place. So, there you go! Now we wait to see how his relationship develops with Anna!

Choi Yoo Jin’s showing her unforgiving side again in this episode. A scene near the start of the episode, she was seen coming up with ways to make life hell for those who tried to oust her as CEO of her foundation and lose control of JB Group. She talks about making a professor lose his job, make up some claim about his role in the election being questionable and making sure all employment options are blocked. She then comes up with soiling a director’s reputation by releasing a video of the director to make the public believe he’s a pervert. Just to make sure he really suffers, she wants to incite suicidal thoughts in his children by showing them the video of their father in such a way. There seems to be a suggestion that the condition of Ume Hye Jin’s relative, Yoo Myung Ha, is the doing of Choi Yoo Jin, too.

Here we thought Choi Yoo Jin might actually have been misunderstood and she’s actually a good person. We don’t think she’s all bad, though. She had told Kim Je Ha in this episode that she has never betrayed anyone who didn’t betray her first. So, it seems as long as they don’t do anything to break her trust, nothing bad will come from it.

In that case, if Choi Yoo Jin’s words are true, then that means Jang Se Joon is the bad guy, he betrayed her first. It should be very interesting to see how it changes Anna’s view of the situation if it were true and Choi Yoo Jin isn’t the bad guy.

Episode 6 went by quickly! Can’t wait to see the developments between not only Kim Je Ha and Ko Anna, but also Choi Yoo Jin asked Kim Je Ha whether , but we quite like the developments between Choi Yoo Jin and Kim Je Ha. It’d be nice if they did become real friends who can help each other achieve what they want.
