Learn How to Sing – Really Sing!

Posted by on Nov 15 2010 | Entertainment

There are so many articles on the internet that tell you how to sing, but not many of them are helpful to beginners like us with little knowledge about singing.

We’ve gone through our fair share of looking on the internet for information to help us understand how to sing. Many of those sites have been enlightening at the beginning, but in the end a lot of them ended up confusing us with some providing information that are not as in depth as they can be, or too technical, and some even providing information that seemed strange.

The vibrato, there isn’t much in depth information on it, but most singing sites out there have a section on it. Some say it’s a change in pitches and one just needs to waver between the two pitches to get the vibrato. Others say vibrato results from good breathing technique.

We want to share one site that we believe provides good information on learning to sing. Sifting through hundreds of sites, this was the site that provided information that was understandable.

Full season for Chuck!

NBC Chuck

NBC has announced they’ve decided to stick with Chuck for another season! Woohoo! Whatsmore, it was reported that NBC liked the direction Chuck was heading so much that, not only did they decide to pick up the rest of season four (they initially only ordered thirteen episodes of the season, leaving the back nine uncertain), they decided to add two more episodes to the season. This makes season four a 24-episode season; this is the most amount of Chuck we’ve ever gotten in a season! This is great news for us Chuck fans!

Still, we can’t relax too much yet. Just to make sure that we get a fifth season, a sixth season, and so on, don’t forget to support Chuck anyway you can. We hear ratings have been steady, but not as good as they can be to ensure Chuck stays on TV in the United States. So if you are a Chuck fan, even just a mediocre one, help promote the series. Spread the word and get more people to watch Chuck. For example, if you have a Twitter account, follow ChuckMeMondays and help promote the series every Monday (Tuesday morning & afternoon for us in NZ), as this is when Chuck is aired in the United States; and if you’re a Neilsen family (a group of people the Neilsen Company study TV viewing behaviour), make sure you turn on your TVs before the show comes on, watch the show live, and don’t skip any advertisements or switch off before the episode has finished rolling credits: because not doing the aforementioned things will result in your support not being counted in the ratings. Hopefully, our efforts and support will convince NBC to pick up a full season from the beginning instead of picking up only half each time.

A couple of more things on Chuck. Go to TV Guide Magazine and vote for Chuck to be on the cover of the next TV Guide Magazine (US). Apparently, Chuck’s never been on the cover of one. The voting runs through November 1st, so get clicking and help Chuck get on it. Promote, promote, promote!

And finally, support Zachary Levi and his company: thenerdmachine.com. He’s started up a new company which sells all things nerd. If you’ve ever wondered where to get one of those cool NERD shirts you see him wearing during his public appearances, this is the place to get one.

Okay, that’s all!

…CHUCK, CHUCK, CHUCK!

Okay, this time we’re really signing off. Till next post!

Chapter 17, Skin-deep Fanfiction Updated

Posted by on Oct 07 2010 | Fanfiction

It’s been a long time between updates, but we’ve finally found some time to get this chapter written. We had the direction thought out, but it took us a number of rewrites before we actually got it to a place we wished it to go. The fact that there are two people working on this, occasionally we get idea clashes, and that’s caused a few more rewrites. We once read that writing is rewriting, so we guess we shouldn’t be too worried we’ve done so many takes on this chapter to get it right.

Initially, the chapter was supposed to carry on past what we’ve written, and build on another obstacle for the protagonist, Sakura. But that would have made it doubly long. So we decided to break the chapter into two. We hope we’ve progressed the characters and their relationships further with this latest installment.

We hope you all enjoy. Hopefully, the next one won’t take so long to update. See you next time!
