Building a website was our very first creative work. It was what started us going down the creative path. It was a fan site dedicated to our most favourite show. Has anyone come across Staj’s Star Trek Voyager site hosted on a web host called, Geocities from 1999 – 2003? It was very simple. Some current web design critiques will say it had some bad elements—a splash page telling you which browser and resolution it was best viewed in; background midi music automatically playing when you entered the site; scrolling, blinking marquee texts; and trek fonts that needed to be downloaded to name a few. All of this was coded and formatted using tables.
We haven’t stopped designing and coding websites since, and have designed a few for clients and modified some websites and blogs, too. Nowadays, any web/blog design work we do is refreshing our own. Speaking of our website, how do you like it? It has been redesigned again! We’ve self-taught ourselves a few things since learning to code with tables back when we first started, namely CSS/HTML! It’s gotten a tad more sophisticated!
Coming across Fanfiction.net (a community where people share their stories based on television shows and film with other writers in the community), we began writing. It was a great way to express plot ideas and improve writing skills through critique from other aspiring writers. We also tried our hand in creating stories through music video making.
Telling stories, creating characters and worlds are what brings about most of the works you see on this site. We have planned a few original stories and hope to move onto writing those soon, so watch this space!
Please, do take a look around our site. If our works jump out at you, you find that we may be of some assistance to a project you are working on, or maybe you just simply want to reach us to comment on the site, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us via email (jtc [@] juliaandtania [dot] com) or through twitter (@juliaandtania)!
