100 Days My Prince Episode 13 Recap<\/h2>\n

Hong Shim almost sneaks away without being discovered by Lee Yul, but the gate that was left slightly ajar gave her away. Lee Yul knew then she had been around and wasn\u2019t far.<\/p>\n

Lee Yul tells Hong Shim he misses her and don\u2019t think he can live without her when he catches up with her. The confession doesn\u2019t move Hong Shim, as the only way she sees them being together is if he makes her his concubine, which she isn\u2019t keen. Lee Yul seemed to entertain the idea when she rhetorically suggests it, though.<\/p>\n

With her not seeing a way they could be together, she tells Lee Yul to return to the palace after suggesting he shouldn\u2019t be here with her: he\u2019s married to the Crown Princess. Lee Yul makes a move to approach her, but is told to stop. This is where their relationship ends, she tells him. She bows her head before leaving.<\/p>\n

Hong Shim turns a corner before she lets out her tears. She had made it out that she didn\u2019t care about ending things. She was pretty firm about it when Lee Yul asked her, but after a few sobs, she finds herself wanting to turn back. She\u2019s stopped by Seok Ha. She can\u2019t go to him.<\/p>\n

The Vice Premier is acting like a worried father-in-law after Lee Yul is scolded by the King for venturing out at night. The Vice Premier claims being worried for Lee Yul\u2019s safety and it was dangerous for Lee Yul to go out without his private guard, when what he\u2019s really saying is that a private guard must be with Lee Yul at all times so the Vice Premier can know about his whereabouts and states at all times. He even suggests accompanying the Crown Prince anytime should he feel suffocated staying in the palace.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, somewhere in the palace, those who didn\u2019t keep watch of the Crown Prince and let him out of their sights are being caned and scolded.<\/p>\n

Ming Envoy, Envoy Wang, has arrived. Last episode<\/a>, the Ming Envoy was mentioned as being on-route for Prince Seo Won\u2019s installment ceremony, but then Lee Yul returned from the dead to take back his position as Crown Prince. They couldn\u2019t have Envoy Wang turn around and so a banquet in the Envoy\u2019s honour was suggested. <\/p>\n

With Lee Yul\u2019s memory loss, the banquet was another opportunity for the Queen and Prince Seo Won supporters to have Lee Yul removed as Crown Prince and Seo Won installed. They start with removing the Vice Premier from attending the banquet with the reason that his presence harms the Crown Prince.<\/p>\n

Two years ago, the Ming Envoy and Lee Yul got along well, but the Ming Envoy and Vice Premier had an argument. Envoy Wang does not like Vice Premier because Envoy Wang suspects Vice Premier of having an ulterior motive. It\u2019s the topic which had the two talking. It wasn\u2019t over poem which the Vice Premier had believed.<\/p>\n

With the Vice Premier forced to acknowledge his hindrance to Lee Yul, he agrees he won\u2019t be attending. It puts Lee Yul in a bit of trouble as he had no memory of Envoy Wang, what he looks like of what happened two years ago. He worries he will make a mistake. The Vice Premier assures Lee Yul this won\u2019t happen as he will obtain detailed reports of the meeting: Envoy Wang’s disposition, experiences and what he discussed he will get. One of the Vice President\u2019s men, Minister of War, and people talented in poetry will also be there to help. <\/p>\n

The test turns out not to be with poems they wrote or recalling details of two years ago, but with the disappearance of Envoy Wang\u2019s daughter (who\u2019s disguised as a son). Wanting to see her beloved, Young Master Young Hoo, she had tricked the Minister of Culture and Education (Vice Premier\u2019s son) into creating a diversion so she could go find and meet her beloved. Sometime after running off on her own, she was kidnapped and taken to a shed. (This second part of the kidnapping looks to be the Queen\u2019s doing.)<\/p>\n

The incident could\u2019ve cost Lee Yul his Crown Prince title and the Minister of Culture and Education\u2019s life, but with Jung Jae Yoon\u2019s help and Hong Shim\u2019s suggestion to help Jinlin meet her beloved, it more than convinces Envoy Wang of Lee Yul\u2019s abilities as Jinlin returns safe and sound, and maybe a little happier than she has been.<\/p>\n

Envoy Wang reveals that the reason he had his daughter come along with him was because she had been crying every day and thought the trip would do her well. The Ming Envoy had no idea she was heartbroken and missing her sick beloved. Allowing Jinlin to see her beloved seems to have been a decision only Lee Yul would have made because of his own situation with wanting to see Hong Shim but not being able to do so, and it was a good decision. <\/p>\n

Envoy Wang extends his gratitude before hoping Lee Yul recover his memories so he can get bloody revenge on those who killed him before leaving.<\/p>\n

The truth of who tried to kill him remains hidden. The secret letter containing the Chinese character \u201cheel\u201d is a riddle Lee Yul wrote and is meant to contain the answer to who had tried to kill him. This riddle had stumped Jung Jae Yoon, and for the time being, it has Lee Yul stumped, too. Nothing has come to mind staring at it.<\/p>\n

As for Hong Shim, Lee Yul finally remembers who she really is. Prompted by the book Early Learning which he was about to read to the Crown Princess\u2019 baby, he flashes on a memory of his young self sitting in his room holding Yoon Yi Seo\u2019s hair ribbon and it being used to wrap around the wound on his arm.<\/p>\n

In search of his old things (which an eunuch informs has been gotten rid of), he is led to discovering them amidst being burned outside the palace following Lee Yul\u2019s search for them. Fortunately, Kwon Hyuk had gotten there just before the items were burned. Ordering the small table chest to be opened, Yoon Yi Seo\u2019s ribbon is amongst the items in there.<\/p>\n

A string of memories flash before his mind: him talking to Yoon Yi Seo and saying he finished reading Elementary Learning in 10 days, her complimenting him and using the nickname she gave him, Fool. Hong Shim is remembered to have used the nickname when he was Won Deuk. Hong Shim\u2019s lie about him planting a cherry blossom tree in their backyard because the tree was her favourite flashes before him, too. He remembers her telling him they pinky-swore on him giving her a good life and doing anything for her if she married him. This is juxtaposed with Yoon Yi Seo asking whether he liked snow or raining petals, and him answering he liked her and promising that he will marry her.<\/p>\n

Going to Mokjeong Bridge, Lee Yul sees Hong Shim with her back to him, staring up at the night sky. It has him remember the first time he saw Hong Shim in her silk clothes waiting for her brother. Her hand extended out to catch a falling cherry blossom petal, just like Yoon Yi Seo. Back then Lee Yul thought she reminded him of Yoon Yi Seo. He calls her “Yi Seo” which has Hong Shim turn in his direction. “It’s you. Yoon Yi Seo.” <\/p>\n

“How do you know that name, Your Highness?”<\/p>\n

“It’s me,” Lee Yul says, “Fool.”<\/p>\n

Hong Shim tries to sneak away while Lee Yul checks the inside the house, but the open gate gives away her presence moments before and he follows her down the path to catch up with her. Hong Shim is strong and steady when she tells him she’s ending things between them, but she can’t bear to let things end after turning a corner and actually wants to turn back. She’s stopped by her brother, though, leaving her crying against her brother’s shoulder.<\/p>\n

Jung Jae Yoon shows Lee Yul the secret letter\/riddle which would reveal who the Lee Yul\u2019s killer and enemy is. Not even Lee Yul knows as the response he gives the literal one. He continues to be stumped come nighttime.<\/p>\n

Lee Yul gets a scolding from the King for going out so late and is told he\u2019s disloyal and ungrateful for giving him back in his Crown Prince title at the expense of the King\u2019s own dignity. The Vice Premier takes the blame for Lee Yul which has Lee Yul actually apologise to the Vice Premier for involving him, not knowing this all started because of the Vice Premier and he\u2019s the last person deserving an apology.<\/p>\n

Hong Shim and her dad make their way towards the port with Seok Ha missing. Hong Shim refuses to take another step until she finds out where he is. Hyuk reveals he\u2019s in Hanyang. Hong Shim and her dad visits Hanyang, but is stopped by a guard as the guard found it suspicious that she\u2019s married but she\u2019s traveling with her dad with a large bag and with a marriage that is unregistered. Luckily, Jung Jae Yoon\u2019s there to explain he had no time to register her marriage and gets them past.<\/p>\n

Chief Censor and the Queen\u2019s supporters continue to test Lee Yul\u2019s memory. At a discussion about preparing a gift for the Ming Envoy, Lee Yul is asked to remember the gift he prepared for the Envoy two years ago, something he avoids answering by cleverly providing that it wouldn\u2019t have been the gift he prepared which gained a positive view from the Envoy, but a connection of some sort was made.<\/p>\n

Whatever the case, the Vice Premier is suggested to refrain from attending. The reason used is that the Ming Envoy and the Vice Premier don\u2019t get along (an argument erupted between hem the last time). That takes care of any help Lee Yul might get at the banquet.<\/p>\n

The decision to have the Vice Premier not attend the banquet, Lee Yul\u2019s worried he\u2019ll make a mistake. The Vice Premier assures Lee Yul will be fine as he\u2019ll arrange for detailed reports of Special Envoy Wang’s disposition, experiences and what was discussed to be obtained. He\u2019s not accounting for the Queen\u2019s \u2018surprise gift\u2019.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re still a bit confused what this surprise gift was after watching the episode. We\u2019re guessing it was kidnapping the Envoy\u2019s \u2018son\u2019 Jinlin.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s getting more suspicious that there really is a romantic relationship between Seok Ha and the Crown Princess. The sight of Seok Ha in the palace has the Crown Princess stare in Seok Ha\u2019s direction. Lee Yul catches the stare and follows it, but, luckily for the Crown Princess, she manages to stop Lee Yul from going after Seok Ha. Lee Yul seems to have recognised Seok Ha, but the Crown Princess\u2019 claim of feeling dizzy have him stop to support her. So glad Hong Shim\u2019s nowhere nearby. Lee Yul looks pretty caring towards the Crown Princess. So, he should since he thinks the baby is his. Lee Yul was convinced to accompany her in their walk upon recalling Vice Premier’s words about keeping his title as Crown Prince not only for his own sake, but for the baby as well. He was told that once he loses it, his baby will be not be allowed to live. Still, it\u2019s a tiny bit hard to see Lee Yul be so caring for anyone other than Hong Shim.<\/p>\n

Kkyeut Nyeo, Gu Dol as well as Park Bok Eun finally learn the truth about Won Deuk being the Crown Prince. It starts off with Gu Dol and Kkyeut Nyeo are sad over Hong Shim and her dad’s departure to Hanyang and Kkyeut Nyeo wanting to go to Hanyang to defend Hong Shim and Won Deuk over their arrest. Gu Dol thinks Kkyeut Nyeo needs to calm down when she starts blaming the Crown Prince for causing this mess for Hong Shim. Had it not been for the Crown Prince, Hong Shim wouldn\u2019t have been implicated because of Won Deuk. Kkyeut Nyeo doesn\u2019t believe Won Deuk would do such a thing as treason, but her main concern is saving her friend Hong Shim it seems.<\/p>\n

The conversation soon gets to the point of Kkyeut Nyeo calling for divorce either go to Hanyang with her or divorce her, she tells Gu Dol. Yang Chun, who\u2019s in the middle watching this fight can\u2019t hold her tongue anymore and tells them both the real reason Won Deuk and Hong Shim are gone. Won Deuk is the Crown Prince and it\u2019s because of this they\u2019ve gone in hiding. Park Bok Eun walks by around this point and hears the truth, causing him to remember how he threw rocks at Won Deuk and even smacked him a couple times has him laugh before fainting.<\/p>\n

Special Envoy Ming along with his \u2018son\u2019 Jinlin has arrived at the palace and let\u2019s Lee Yul know he will be testing the Crown Prince\u2019s abilities seeming as he\u2019s heard he\u2019s not himself. Lee Yul is up for the challenge and will wait to see just how difficult and tricky his test will be.<\/p>\n

Staying at Jung Jae Yoon\u2019s place for the time she\u2019s in Hanyang, Hong Shim finds a pouch with a gold ingot in there. It\u2019s Hong Shim\u2019s first clue to what Seok Ha does for a living and soon how he\u2019s connected to Lee Yul\u2019s attempted assassination. For now, because of the big amount of money he has, she suspects Seok Ha killed people as a job.<\/p>\n

Told that Jinlin is interested in Joseon culture and came to broaden his knowledge, the Minister of Culture (aka Vice Premier\u2019s son) is charged with seeing that she learns about it. The Minister of Culture chooses to show her the marketplace as he thinks it\u2019s better than the Office of Royal Decrees when it comes to learning Joseon culture. Jinlin reveals to him that he\u2019s not really interested in the culture. She only wanted to get away from her suffocating father for a while.<\/p>\n

Wanting to also escape the Minister\u2019s company, she tricks him into creating a distraction so she can head into a store to buy a gift for her lover away from the watchful eyes of guards around them. She disappears from his sight, causing him to seek the help of Jung Jae Yoon (who happens to be out stocking his house with grocery with Hong Shim).<\/p>\n

Jinlin’s disappearance becomes Lee Yul\u2019s test when it\u2019s reported back to the palace. Lee Yul may not know at this point why it\u2019s to be the test which decides whether he\u2019s fit to be Crown Prince or not, but already he knows there\u2019s a secret the Envoy wants kept. His handling of this secret will say a lot about the Crown Prince\u2019s character and trustworthiness.<\/p>\n

Jung Jae Yoon and Hong Shim look for Jinlin and discover the secret which Envoy Ming had used to test Lee Yul. Whilst out talking to people in the markets, they learn from one of the villagers about a man buying a Hanbok and changing into it. Jinlin is not a man but a woman and she\u2019s been taken hostage by a group of thugs they previously ran into whilst floating some lanterns (Episode 5<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Jinlin is rescued with Jung Jae Yoon not showing his great swordsmanship against the thugs, but with him running away and having the thugs chase him, allowing Hong Shim to enter the unguarded shed to rescue Jinlin. The rescue doesn\u2019t go without a fight, though. A guard returns to try stop Hong Shim. Somehow, with the martial arts she learned from Seok Ha when she was little, she manages to hold him off and apparently defeat as the next scene we see is her outside and Jinlin freed.<\/p>\n

Lee Yul\u2019s tracked down Jinlin and arrives right when Hong Shim and Jinlin are outside. He\u2019s surprised by two sights: Jinlin being a woman and the sight of cuts on Hong Shim\u2019s cheek and lip. Instinctively, he takes a step towards her when Jung Jae Yoon appears before his sight and starts worrying over Hong Shim\u2019s sprained ankle. It\u2019s at this point, Lee Yul is forced to acknowledge Jung Jae Yoon has feelings for Hong Shim.<\/p>\n

Kwon Hyuk asks whether they should make a move to bring Jinlin back after seemingly hearing Hong Shim suggest she and Jung Jae Yoon should take Jinlin to the beloved she revealed as wanting to meet before she missed her opportunity.<\/p>\n

It was a suggestion Jung Jae Yoon didn\u2019t agree with, but Hong Shim had explained her reason for the suggestion: “some seek power, some put their families first and some put love above more than anything else.\u201d They all have different things they treasure the most and Hong Shim seem to suggest Jinlin\u2019s is love.<\/p>\n

Jung Jae Yoon comes around to the idea following the explanation. Lee Yul seems to empathise with Jinlin\u2019s situation, too, and allows the meeting to happen. He has trust in Hong Shim and Jung Jae Yoon to bring Jinlin back.<\/p>\n

Envoy Wang was ready to announce Lee Yul\u2019s test a fail when he didn\u2019t see Jinlin at the banquet, but then just as the Ming Envoy was about to stand up and leave in disapproval, Jinlin shows up. The visit ends with Envoy Wang extending an apology and his gratitude for his handling of the situation, because apparently, if news got back to the Emperor that Envoy Wang brought along his daughter on a diplomatic mission, he’d be furious. He showed great judgement (maybe compassion and empathy) and trustworthiness. Because of the way he handled this situation alone, Envoy Wang is assured Lee Yul qualifies as Crown Prince.<\/p>\n

Jung Jae Yoon apologises for being late. Lee Yul is more concerned with Jung Jae Yoon’s feelings for Hong Shim. “How long have you had feelings for her?” Lee Yul asks. Jung Jae Yoon tells him probably longer than the time he had feelings for her.<\/p>\n

Jung Jae Yoon is wrong. Lee Yul learns he’s known and had feelings for Hong Shim ever since he was little. Lee Yul flashes on more memories. This time, he remembers Yoon Yi Seo\u2019s hair ribbon which reading the Elementary Learning book in the Crown Princess’ chambers brings on. The memory has him look for and recover one of his belongings (a desk chest) which he was told had all been rid of.<\/p>\n

A string of memories of Yoon Yi Seo, Hong Shim, their similar actions and words flash before his mind upon seeing the hair ribbon. Not long, he seems to realise the person he fell for in Songjoo Village is the same person he fell for when he was a young boy.<\/p>\n

Hong Shim voices her feelings for Won Deuk\/Lee Yul and tells her dad she can’t control how she feels and can’t forget him so easily despite knowing she must forget him. She likes him, misses him and can’t believe they parted ways.<\/p>\n

Lee Yul\u2019s memories takes him to the bridge where Hong Shim is always seen waiting every month for her brother. Lee Yul remembers the time he saw her standing on the bridge dressed in noble dress and extending her hand to catch the falling cherry blossoms (Episode 2<\/a>). She reminded him of his childhood love, Yoon Yi Seo. He couldn\u2019t stop her to check back then because she seemed worried about being caught or questioned. This time, though, he’s got his answer. He’s found her after all these years of searching.<\/p>\n

Yay! Lee Yul finally recognises Hong Shim as the same person as the girl he fell for when he was a boy! It’s also great to see Hong Shim finally speak out her own feelings for Won Deuk. From when they were young to now, it’s always been Lee Yul who’s liked her a lot. Hong Shim\/Yoon Yi Seo showed no feelings for him, but finally her heart is where he is!<\/p>\n
