Created in 2002 while attending a multimedia design course, this simple model used primarily the box method of modelling which helped create the main body of this model. Each element on the dvd player-the controls, the display screen, the dvd slot, the audio/video, power, and sound plugs, and the labels were individually created and placed into the main body using various tools such as the smooth-shift tool, lathe tool, and simple tools such as the drag and move tools to shape the parts.

It was originally an video clip placed within the introduction page of an instructional CD-ROM for the SONY DVP-NS305 DVD player. The CD-ROM was envisioned to be distributed along with the product for those who have access to another device that could run CDs (such as a personal computer) and would like a quick guide in setting up the DVD player instead of reading the manual.
