behind the video

This is our very first anime music video. Looking back at it, we realise that this video does not quite tell the story we had intended. The song was probably better suited for another storyline. Still... this was the story we planned for it.

Sakura is dealt the task of fighting spirits and returning them to their original form as cards. Day after day she is faced with new spirits, fighting, not only very hard, but alone. That is, until Li Syaoran arrives.

Time after time, Li Syaoran is there to help her out, lessening the burden of this task. It soon becomes apparent that these two form a very good team; and without one another, the outcome may be very different. Along the way Syaoran develops a need to protect the appointed card mistress—not only during their encounters with the spirits, but also emotionally.

Soon, he acknowledges that this newfound protectiveness is a sign of his hidden feelings for her, but never reveals them to her. As she reflects on certain events, she does somewhat catch on, but is still very much ignorant to the depth of his feelings. In the end, although Sakura does regard him as important, she continues to be unsure of her own feelings. Taking this uncertainty as non-acceptance, Syaoran leaves with the hope that one day she'll realise her feelings for him and embark on a journey that is life, together.
