Yoshiro's life has always been on the move—never staying in one place for long because his parents changed jobs a lot. Being the only child and having parents that worked a lot to make ends meet, he spent a lot of time at houses of other kids in the neighbourhood. This has made him very sociable, fit in many circles, and obtain a broad knowledge about things—however not in depth. He has many friends, but can never call them true friends. He fits with many types of people, but prefers to stick with people who are stable and trustworthy.

When his parents are home, Yoshiro is usually entertained with what Yoshiro believed were "crazy" stories. Nevertheless, he loved them as a kid. He loved the way his parents would sit with him and tell—almost act out—the stories. It is rare that he and his family have fun together, but when they do, he treats it as a special occasion. These times are his happiest. It is the many times with his parents that has shaped Yoshiro to enjoy and value the simplest things.

It is also through one of his parents' stories that he found that magic ran in his blood. Like Sakura, although not as reknown, Yoshiro didn't know he had magical abilities. His ancestors, however, abandoned that part of their lineage; and it is not until curiosity within him that he unlocked the hidden powers of a rectangular object his mother gave him one evening. It is called the Summoning Arc because when in use, the small rectangular object transforms into a circular arc. Blue magic shoots from the centre of the arc when the user glides the palm over its activated form. But Yoshiro's magic is considerably weaker than Sakura and is primarily defensive in nature. At the moment, fog and memory erase are the two forms of magic Yoshiro possesses.
